What does an ASM do?
ASMs take a very hands-on approach in developing and training associates. ASMs are able to work in tandem with the CXM to make sure things run smoothly for associates and customers. Their main goal is to get their business area running more smoothly and streamline new efforts.
What is a typical day like?
The ASM meets with the CXM to see if any issues need to be addressed with the store and walk the store for safety. ASMs dig into bigger issues within their operational areas by checking reports and seeing where they need to be more productive. They also provide real-time feedback to associates for growth and development.
Why become an ASM?
Many ASMs find they can control their day and get back to what they are passionate about—spending more time developing and growing their associates and supervisors.
How much could I make?
The ASM is a salaried, non-exempt position that also includes company stock and the Manager Incentive Program (MIP), the manager’s version of success sharing. An ASM can MIP anywhere between 25-60% of their annual salary depending on their store’s performance.
