Military Support

Our goal is to further our company’s commitment to veterans, support our existing 35,000 veteran and military spouse associates, and to help transitioning service members find their second career.

Testimonial

As a military vet, your background opens opportunities across many different career paths. We find veterans at all levels across different teams at THD because their experience with solving problems, working as a team to support our associates, and dedication to success makes them extremely valuable and versatile team members.
– Chuck K., Army Veteran, Senior Manager – Delivery Management

Jennifer, Military Spouse, HR Program Manager

Jennifer has grown her career while balancing family and service. She has held several positions in the company, including Store HR Manager, Field Staffing Manager, and now HR Program Manager.

"What attracted me to The Home Depot was its reputation of taking care of people – communities, veterans, associates, and customers. I stay with Home Depot because I am part of something special. The culture is unlike any other. My work has purpose while making a difference in associates' lives, and I have incredible leaders and mentors who support me and guide me."

TEANDRA, Army & Air Force Veteran, Senior Business Analyst

Strong values were instilled in TeAndra while she was serving in the military, and because of this, starting her career at Home Depot was an easy choice.

"What attracted me to Home Depot was its values. We live our values every day at Home Depot, and many of those are the same as I saw in the military. It was a no-brainer to work for a company that displays the values that were instilled in me from my military experience."

PETE, Marine Corps Veteran, Northern Division President

Pete started his career at The Home Depot as a store sales associate in the electrical department. Since then, he has held positions of increasing responsibility during his 30-year career. As a leader in a fast-paced environment, Pete draws on his experience in the Marine Corps to guide his leadership style.

"Home Depot strongly supports our veterans so they feel comfortable making the transition. Many similarities exist between Home Depot and the military — both are fast paced, you are empowered to make decisions, and you are empowered to do the right thing."

DAN, Army Veteran, Distribution Center Assistant General Manager

As Dan was transitioning from the Army to the civilian sector after 34 years of service, it was important for him to join an organization that lives by its values.

"The Home Depot is more than just the largest home improvement retailer in the world, it is a values-based company with roles to match almost any experience. It is nearly as large as the United States Army and provides incredible opportunities to transitioning serve members."

JENELL, U.S. Army Reserve, Store Manager

When Jenell is not serving her country in the U.S. Army Reserves, she is serving her associates and customers as a Store Manager. Values are a guiding principle in both of her careers.

"Values are at the heart of everything we do in the Army and at The Home Depot. As long as we operate within the value system, we will know that we are doing the right thing by our Associates, our customers and our organization."

MARLON, Navy Veteran, Contact Center Supervisor

Marlon retired from the Navy after over 29 years of service. Seeking his next career, he was drawn to our strong culture and the values we live every day.

“As part of leadership in the Military, we strove to create a culture of inclusivity, support, and transparency. I see that here a Home Depot."

LISA, Military Spouse, Store Manager

Early in Lisa’s 23 years career with The Home Depot, she was hesitant to grow because she thought it made it more difficult for her to transfer when it came time for her family to move with the military.

“Home Depot is a company that cares and truly provides peace of mind to military spouses. This company allows you to advance and have a career. 23 years and 10 stores later, I am still finding a home and a family with Home Depot. It’s not a job, it’s a career.”

RAVEN, Navy Veteran, Department Supervisor

Raven’s experience of supervising teams in the Navy has helped him to grow as a department supervisor and to develop associates. He knows that one person cannot do it all alone and credits team work to his success.

“Just like working in teams in the military, we each contribute to getting the job done and then review to see if any improvements can be made the next time. The management team helps us to stay on track and will work side-by-side (if needed) to ensure the task is completed.”

KRYSTAL, U.S. Army Reserve, District Human Resources Manager

As Krystal continues to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves, it was important for her to find a place that understood the value of the skills she learned in the military and supported her in serving her country.

“This is the first company that I’ve worked for where I truly feel like my military experience is valued. I also have never felt more supported about continuing to serve.”
