In 2011, Pete applied for a role as an Appliance Sales Specialist. He didn’t know much about The Home Depot, but he needed a job to make ends meet. As he learned about our values and experienced our culture, he realized that this was a place where he could grow.

During his time with us, Pete has held roles across Operations, Specialty, Merchandising, and more. Tackling roles in different departments has helped him learn new skills and improve his leadership abilities. “Working at Home Depot has given me confidence and helped me become a stronger leader,” he shares. In his current position as a Customer Experience Manager, he’s passionate about helping his associates grow, too. “I am always happy to help develop new associates.” While the continued opportunities to learn are a big reason why Pete chooses to grow his career with us, our commitment to taking care of our people is equally important to him. “We are not only in the business of home improvement,” Pete says. “We’re in the business of people improvement.” Though Pete loves helping customers and lending a hand throughout the store, his favorite part of his job is working with his team. From his first role in Specialty to his current position, it’s the best part of his day.
